Alurie's Poetry
“This life is yours. Take the power to choose what you want to do and do it well. Take the power to love what you want in life and love it honestly. Take the power to walk in the forest and be a part of nature. Take the power to control your own life. No one else can do it for you. Take the power to make your life happy.” ― Susan Polis Schutz

Stalking Nightmares
You are lost in the forest like Red Riding Hood. Someone is following, you cannot see them. The sky is darker than ink. You hear the follower slowly making its way closer and closer. The footsteps are slow. Branches rustle as the wind soars through the bare trees. Many twigs are broken by each step. They snap and echo. The trees are faintly visible. The sky is blind. There are no stars. There is no moon. The footsteps become louder and quicker. Fingers dig into your throat. Your lungs are tied into a deadly knot. You try to scream. Nothing. You close your eyes, hoping it will all end. You wake up in bed, panting, and covered in cold sweat.
Waiting
I waited,
seconds.
I waited,
minutes.
I waited,
hours.
I waited,
months.
I waited,
years.
I waited,
lifetimes.
I waited,
until time died.
I waited,
but you never came back.
seconds.
I waited,
minutes.
I waited,
hours.
I waited,
months.
I waited,
years.
I waited,
lifetimes.
I waited,
until time died.
I waited,
but you never came back.
The Tear
Flow from a window,
Leak from a frame.
Stream downhill,
Run away from shame.
Splash on the surface,
Break the cage.
Free like a dove,
A fresh new page.
It will ripple.
It will vanish.
You will be cheerful again.
Leak from a frame.
Stream downhill,
Run away from shame.
Splash on the surface,
Break the cage.
Free like a dove,
A fresh new page.
It will ripple.
It will vanish.
You will be cheerful again.

A Lonely World
Alone in this world and I'm
Beside a tree, a
Colourless world I see.
Deep in thought.
Even saddened.
Feelings lost is what happened.
Glory is gone and
Horror is near,
I sacrifice what I hold so dear.
Joy is turned to grimace,
Kindness replaced by sadness.
Laughter I used to admire,
Madness is what we inspire.
Never again to see another day,
Or another smile I may.
Poorness has been defined,
Questions are never refined.
Ruined by hatred and now stranded,
Simply invisible and abandoned.
To love is a great adventure.
Undefined in many ways.
Venture out if you dare,
When willpower is your only care.
Beside a tree, a
Colourless world I see.
Deep in thought.
Even saddened.
Feelings lost is what happened.
Glory is gone and
Horror is near,
I sacrifice what I hold so dear.
Joy is turned to grimace,
Kindness replaced by sadness.
Laughter I used to admire,
Madness is what we inspire.
Never again to see another day,
Or another smile I may.
Poorness has been defined,
Questions are never refined.
Ruined by hatred and now stranded,
Simply invisible and abandoned.
To love is a great adventure.
Undefined in many ways.
Venture out if you dare,
When willpower is your only care.

Losing You
I pictured the day I would lose
everything.
The day you would
drown.
When the knot would
untie.
When the rope would
snap.
When your life would slip out of my hands.
Then the day indeed
happened.
The day you had
drowned.
The day the knot had
untied.
The day the rope had
snapped.
The day your place in life had
perished.
When our hands did not meet.
The day I lost you.
everything.
The day you would
drown.
When the knot would
untie.
When the rope would
snap.
When your life would slip out of my hands.
Then the day indeed
happened.
The day you had
drowned.
The day the knot had
untied.
The day the rope had
snapped.
The day your place in life had
perished.
When our hands did not meet.
The day I lost you.
